What Page Thinks!!! about saying goodbye to Motley Crue...

It saddens me to think that this is the last MOTLEY CRUE tour. And now that I've had some time to let it sink in I've began thinking of how much they have meant to me in my life.
Motley has been apart of me, basically since I was born. I can say that about a lot of bands, probably more than the average person can. As I've been fortunate enough to have been brought up in an enviroment where music is; and I know it can be an over used cliche' to say, but MUSIC IS LIFE. It truly is for me. It was for my dad, and if you know my mom and sisters, then you know it is for them as well. In fact I don't think I can properly put into words how much music means to any of us. So I won't even try. And even if I did I'm sure no matter what I would say or how well I tried to articulate it, by dressing it up with whatever pretty words that popped into my head, it still would be a gross understatement of what music means to us.
Anyway, with that being said lets get back to MOTLEY and their impending fond farewell.
It looks like MOTLEY is poised to go out with a bang, to put it mildly...and what else would you expect from the CRUE?
A band that embodies rock n roll, probably as much or even more so than any other band that has come before or after them. That might be kind of a bold statement, but to me I can't see many acts that rival them in that respect. They did it all with the sex, drugs, alcohol fueled debauchery that set the standard to generations to come. And then there is the beautiful meyhem in their performances on stage, they're like the New York Dolls on steroids. Just so deliciously over the top in the best ways possible, and of course the music, anthemic, powerful, moving and just straight up rock n roll.
Seeing how it is the last tour, I for one can't think of a better opener than the legend himself...Alice Cooper!
In the 60's and 70's Alice and his band were pure entertainment and at the forefront of shock rock which would lead to future generations of bands and obviously MOTLEY CRUE, being one of those affected by that style or, "infected" , if you would indulge me in my ludicrous ways of playing with words. I think this is the perfect pairing to send MOTLEY on their last hurrah.
Alice is always a show no matter who his line-up is. But the group of talented musicians on this tour is something to behold.
Chuck Garric on bass is always great to watch on stage wether it's with Alice or his new kick ass band Beasto Blanco, new guitarist Nita Strauss who is an amazing talent, rock royalty himself Ryan Roxie, drummer Glen Sobel who's always a genius and the more than talented Tommy Henriksen, who wouldn't want to be on stage with him let alone in a studio!
Both MOTLEY and ALICE have the same vein of being a part of the reckless rock n roll band that thrives to entertain. Providing their fans the youth and exuberance we all search for.
Sad to say goodbye but looking forward to a great send off. Wether you're a life long fan or not, saying goodbye to the CRUE is something you won't want to miss. I will forever remember Nikki, Vince, Tommy & Mick! RIP my dear friends...thanks for the memories.
